What are the methods of communication used to transmit data to cloud?
- Atlas uses sensor devices such as mobile phones and gateways to record and send data to the cloud repository. The data is encrypted end-to-end and is transmitted to the server over HTTPS using strong ciphers. Sensors will use their native internet connection to relay the data to server – this will typically be either a cellular or wifi connection.
How does the mobile app get its data?
- All data on the mobile app is loaded from the server. All asset interactions are recorded through use of the Bluetooth radio on board the sensor. Locations are determined via the onboard hardware of the mobile device – including GPS antenna and wifi antenna.
What data is stored on the cloud? Where are the servers located?
- Our cloud systems run on AWS servers based out of Sydney. We ensure all data is kept onshore to maintain sovereignty. We only store the data necessary to track and locate your assets. This includes an asset identifier, latitude / longitude and a timestamp. We also typically include details about the mobile app / employee who interacted with the asset for the purposes of audit and accountability. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry best practices to ensure that it is protected throughout its lifecycle.
Who owns the data?
- All data remains the property of the customer. It can be downloaded / deleted on request.
